Das Kreuz ist auf der Vorderseite mit Mustern verziert und zeigt eingravierte griechische Buchstaben und Symbole. Die Buchstaben bilden zusammen die Inschrift «IC. XP. NIKA», was «Jesus Christus – der Sieger» bedeutet. Auf der Rückseite des Kreuzes ist die Inschrift "Rette und bewahre" graviert. Die Figur Christi ist mit Rhodium beschichtet. Diese Kreuzform wird als «Dreiblattkreuz» bezeichnet – ein Kreuz mit halbrunden Enden in Form von Blättern, das die Dreifaltigkeit symbolisiert und auch zur Darstellung der Auferstehung Jesu verwendet wird.
